Hi there. My name is Joe, and I’m a Psychological Therapist based in Newcastle upon Tyne.
After suffering through years of anxiety and depression throughout my teens and early twenties, I was able to work through these issues and make a full recovery. I knew then that if I could recover, I could help other people do the same.
Following my recovery, I went on to gain a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Counselling from The University of Sunderland and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (IAPT) from Teesside University. I am an accredited member of The British Association for Cognitive & Behavioural Psychotherapies (BABCP) and a former registered member of The British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP).
So far in my career, I have worked within Schools, Employee Assistance Programs, and Primary NHS Healthcare Services.
My unique position as not only a qualified therapist but also a former sufferer has allowed me to form strong connections with my clients and tailor evidence-based approaches to meet individual needs.
I know first hand what it is like to experience problems such as panic attacks, chronic low mood, agoraphobia, constant fatigue, health anxiety, intrusive thoughts and excessive worry. I was able to fully recover from these disorders and you can too!
